With spectacular views of Londons fast changing shoreline, these apartments, another competition winning design from Philip Lancashire, were built on a previously derelict stretch of Thames riverside. This urban waterway once buzzed with boats, barges and cargo lighters, but times change and the apartment balconies now overlook fours, eights and
sculls exercising on the water below. This stretch of river is also on the course of the annual Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race and the apartments provide a perfect vantage point from which to watch the Boat Race, the Head of the River race and all the other rowing spectaculars that take place on the Tideway.

The design approach, together with the location, quality and picturesque surroundings has set a benchmark for stylish riverfront living. The design team embraced the brief from the outset, which called for a sense of luxury and attention to detail to create a picturesque and tranquil living environment within easy reach of the City. Outdoor spaces are designed to be extensions of the living areas, with sumptuous interiors blending seamlessly with outdoor terraces and viewing decks. There are sleek contemporary kitchens, functional workspaces to complement the open plan family living areas and high quality finishes in the master bedroom and bathroom suites.
The external fabric of the building comprises two colours of brickwork, reversed out on the upper two floors to give weight to the lower part of the façade and lightness above, which is mirrored in the waters below. The subtle build up of colour and texture creates interest and balance in the façade while the floor plans themselves extend to the full depth of the building, facilitating cross ventilation and minimising reliance on air conditioning.
