Residential Town House - London

Planning permission has been won for an extra storey to this mews house in Knightsbridge, London, adding considerable value to the property.

The client now requires the interior to be completely re-modeled. An extensive kitchen and dining area will be on the ground floor, with the living room moved up to the first floor, extending across the full width of the house. The original loading doors at first floor level are to be reinstated, with inward opening glazed doors and a balcony front, providing extra light and air. The master bedroom suite is on the top floor. In all there will be three bedrooms and three bathrooms.

The design is aimed at the rental market, to suit an overseas couple, perhaps working in the city, who want a central location and a house well adapted for entertaining.

The house has been designed to be very economical to run, with a roof mounted air source heat pump to provide under floor heating throughout, with a reverse cycle to provide cooling, when required, in the summer.
