Conversion of redundant farm building

The redundant Atcost cattle shed (outlined in red) is to be redeveloped into additional rural offices and workshops. Derelict or redundant farm buildings are potentially a valuable resource, which provide scope for imaginative re-use and profitable investment.  

 

Planning authorities are now encouraged to give planning permission for the conversion of redundant farm buildings and will favourably consider a wide range of commercial or residential uses. To help with the financing of such projects, DEFRA runs a grant scheme under their Farm Diversification Programme.
